Present paper extends previous work concerned with the development of a classification system based on the coevolution metaphor. Since cooperation has proved to successfully achieve proposed task, we investigate whether competition is also a potential alternative and complement. Validation on one real-world and  two benchmark data sets seems to confirm a future potential of this opposite approach.
